In the Italian card game Scopa, the seven of coins is referred to as “Settebello”, literally the “beautiful seven”. It’s the most valuable card in the deck.
Studio Settebello is a cooperative venture brought to life by three dual Italian-US citizens who, after each successfully pursuing our own claims for Italian citizenship by descent (jure sanguinis), decided to make Sicily home and became fast friends. Now, with several years of professional experience in the citizenship and relocation industry under our belts, we’re making it our mission to help others follow in our footsteps. I started learning Italian at the age of 16 to try and reconnect better with my Italian roots, but ended up falling in love with Italy in the process. After spending several years on research and document collection, I finally made the permanent move to Italy in 2025, immigrating to Sicily the same way my grandfather immigrated to the United States; on a boat!

After a year and half of rigorous research and planning, my sister and I moved to Sicily in 2024 and became recognized as Italian citizens that same year. It was a rollercoaster of emotions and experiences! We initially moved for access to affordable healthcare, but we stayed because of the wonderful people who helped make this place our home.

My dream of moving to Italy took root in the winter of 2017 when a casual discussion about family history over our Christmas Eve meal led me to begin researching what it takes to claim Italian citizenship by descent. Unfortunately, life (and a pandemic!) got in the way, but I continued to assemble my application packet. In 2023, I finally made the move to Italy and I haven't looked back since.
